When stopped for a DUI, the following usually happens:
- You will be detained by police.
- You will be asked to submit to a STST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test).
- You will be arrested by police and read your Miranda rights.
- You will be taken by an officer to the local station.
- Your vehicle will be towed.
- You will be read the implied consent advisory to submit to a breath, blood, or urine test.
- You will be given the opportunity to contact an attorney.
- You will be asked to take a breath, blood, or urine test and BAC results will be reported.
- You will be held by the police unless you can make bail.
- You will be released under the assurance that you will appear in court.
